Recap of New Year’s Eve Service With Pastor Chris
As the New Year begins, many Christians look to celebrate the achievements and blessings of the past twelve months and start 2018 celebrating the love of God. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome celebrated the closing of 2017 with a Holy Event at his New Year’s Eve Service. If you were not able to attend, here is a look at how the service went and how Pastor Chris brought the year to a close.
To begin, a song was offered as a dedication of the Lord and gave him praise for the blessings of all who were attending. As the song closed, Pastor Chris took to the stage to welcome parishioners. The crowd, excited to see him, cheered and clapped as he entered giving praise to God. It took some time for the audience to clam themselves, so taken were they with the presence of Pastor Chris and the presence of the Lord.
Once the crowd settled in, Pastor Chris gave praise to God for some of the specific achievements of the Church in spreading his name all over the world. For example, over the last year the church was able to continue distributing the Rhapsody of Realities book in over 900 languages. This makes more than a billion copies of the book in circulation, all spreading the gospel. The Loveword network also brought more of the word of God to radio listeners and television watchers all across the world, including the United States. The church’s many forms of ministry, including the Healing School and inner city missions, have also had a significant impact over the last twelve months. Many ministers have been trained to go forward and spread the word of God through the School of Ministry.
Before bringing forward some others to celebrate God in ministry and song, Pastor Chris spoke of how amazed and touched he was to see so many people, in person and online, tuning in to hear about the amazing power of God. Instead of a sporting event or television show, the New Year sermon brought people together to celebrate his glory instead of earthly competitions and goods.
To continue the celebration, the Future African Leaders Awards were distributed to deserving young people who have shown promise and commitment. Some of the winners were so overwhelmed with both the honor and the presence of God that they fell to the ground in awe and worship.
Next, singers Martin PK and Sinach honored the Lord with their voices, blessing all in attendance with beautiful performances praising God’s awesome power. Singing about the power and beauty of God, they managed to touch everyone in the crowd.
To end the evening, Pastor Chris offered thanks to the Lord on behalf of himself and all attending, as well as those watching the service remotely. He thanked the Lord for his blessings and promised to continue worshiping and loving the Lord. He also encouraged people to pray over the names of family members to bring them peace and joy in this coming year.
